It utilizes IGT’s patented MultiWay Xtra system, with 720 ways to win across a diamond shaped reel formation. This is a modern looking slot graphics equipped with sharp graphics and an interactive soundtrack.

The diamond formation has the first and last reels with 3 lines, 2nd and 4th with 4 lines and the middle reel with 5 lines. This has been used before, with the voodoo-themed Day of the Dead using the same system. Wins work in both directions. It takes a little getting used to before you will quickly spot wins going right to left. Slots have been left to right for so long that I naturally look for that pattern first. With no win-lines, you are looking for symbols on consecutive reels.

Fire Opals has a free spins bonus round, where you get a different design on the reels and different symbols. This triggered reasonably frequently for me, though the wins were only medium size. The reported RTP for this game is a max of 94.92%, which is on the lower side of reasonable in the world of slots.
